Mary Isabelle Holton

KEWANEE- Mary Isabelle Holton, 88, of Carlock, IL, formerly of Kewanee, died at 3:38 PM, Monday, October 5, 2015 at the McLean County Nursing Home in Normal, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Mary Holton Memorial Fund.

She was born February 24, 1927 in Kewanee, the daughter of George and Anna Smith. She married Nathan Holton in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1976. Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Reiff of Bridgeview, IL and Kathleen Weiten of Rice Lake, WI, her sister, Eileen (Al) Eilers of Kewanee and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, James Holton and five siblings, John, Fran, Rose, Trudy and Theresa.

Mary had worked as a nurses aide for 30 years at Kewanee Public Hospital until her retirement. She was of the Catholic faith and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and enjoyed crocheting blankets.
