TOULON – Ruth A. Junis-Albrecht, 79, of Colona, formerly of Toulon, died at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the home of her daughter in New Boston, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 17 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Fr. John Burns will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
She was born May 26, 1938 in Toulon, the daughter of Edward and Ruth (Schmidt) Fussner. She married Leonard Junis and he preceded her in death and then she later married William Albrecht and he preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Timothy (Sandra) Junis of Colona and Joseph (Brenda) Junis of New Boston, IL, her daughter, Rita (Ron) Martin of New Boston, IL, three brothers, Edward Fussner of Toulon, George (Linda) Fussner of Allentown, PA and Roger (Ruth) Fussner of Phoenix, AZ, a sister, Mary Forstrom of Wyoming, IL, five grandchildren, Wesley (Vineta) Junis, Wyatt (Brandy) Junis, Tyler (Hillary) Junis, Jamie Current and Samantha (Jason) Dale and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Ruth graduated from Toulon High School in 1956. She was a homemaker and in her early years had worked Boss Glove Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona. She enjoyed participating in parades and with Race for the Cure.
