Scott W. Strom

KEWANEE - Scott W. Strom, 35, of Kewanee, died at 1:13 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 10 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in rural Galesburg. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, October 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Mental Illness Unit at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.

He was born October 6, 1980 in Kewanee, the son of Brian McVicker and Kelly Strom. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Kelly (Brian) Hopkins of Kewanee, two daughters, Elizabeth Strom of Kewanee and Cassidy Strom of Wyoming, IL, two brothers, Brian and Zachary McVicker, both of Kewanee, two sisters, Sylvia and Melissa McVicker and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Frances Strom.

Scott worked as an inspector for Dixline Corp. in Galva and he had worked for 3 years as an inspector at Great Dane in Kewanee. He was of the Methodist faith and his hobbies included fishing, woodworking and doing carpentry work. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed NASCAR and watching football.
